Mr. Har baugh stated. the Board of Assessors insisted that the entire twelve Yolumes he returned to them to permit them to insrrt in pencil the valuations found -(Continued on page 55) Superior Incinerator Company Makes Successful Bid of Tri~r $46,000 on Construction A contract for the erection of Wilmette's new garbage incinerator was a\~v·arded by the Wilmette Village board to the Superior Incinerator company of Dallas, Texas, on its bid of $46,000, last Tuesday night. The contract was executed on the recommendation of the public service committee, to which bids and accompanying plans had been referred when submt'tted to the board at it s meeting of December 17. Trustee Hans von Reinsperg is chairman cf the committee. Make Zoning Change Previous to the awarding of the contract, an ordinance prepared by the vVilmette Zoning commission, creating · " an d d es1gna · t'mg tl1e . 1 Y d' a "U tl'l't ts t net site selected for the plant by the board 111 Novembe r as such a district, th~reby making it legally possible under the Village zoning codes to erect the plant. \\'as approved. The site is a seven and one-half acre tract located adjacent to the Skokie Valley line of the Chicago, North Shore and Milwaukee railroad, and bounded on the east by Laurel avenue, on the north by Greenleaf avenue ext ended and abutting the Kutten Brothers coal yards on the south. It was purchased at a cost of $25,994.50. Break Ground Soon The letting of the contract for the erection of the plant marks the inaugural of the actual construction program and the close of months of study and survev on the part of Mr. von Re 1 'nsperg and his committee. It is expected that ground will be broken within the coming month and that the olant "·ill be pushed to ·completion with_. 111 th e succeeding four or five months. The actual date for starting constru<;tion, however, will depend largely on " ·eather conditions. Most of the village vehicle license numbers from 1 to 50 are still available. Each year ~any villagers ask that they be g-iven the same low li<;ense numbers that they have had the year previous.
