WILMETTE LIFE January 17, 1930 Miss Amanda Dummert is Claimed by Death Miss Amanda Dummert, a native of Germany, died Saturday, January 11, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Theodore B. Robcrts'on, 215 Fourth street, Wilmette, with whom she had lh·ed all her life. The Robertsons moved to \Vilmette six years ago from Rogers Park. Besides Mrs. Robertson, Miss Dtimmert is survived by her mother, Mrs. Catherine Dummert, who lives at the Robertson home. two oth~r sisters, Mrs. G. H. Pupke and Mrs. Elizabeth Steffens, both of Chicago, and a brother, Henry Dummert, also of Chicago. The Rev. Carl I. Empson of the Wilmette English Lutheran church conducted the funeral services which were held Tuesday afternoon, January 14, at Scott's funeral home, 1109 Central avenue, \Vilmette. Burial took place at Memorial Park cemetery. · Miss Betty Ketchum, daughter of the Craig Kctchums, 611 Ahhottsfor<l road, Kenilworth, entertained the Ace of Clubs at her home on Fridav afternoon. May, Local Policeman Joseph J. May, a member of the \Vilmette Police department for the past six years, died Friday, January 10! at the Evanston hospital, where he had been taken on New Year's day as the result of an automobile accident on Lake avenue near Illinois road. He contracted pneumonia two clays after entering the hospital. The Rev. Herman \V. Meyer St. John's Lutheran church conducted the services. Mrs. Kangas, who was 60 years old, has lived in Wilmette for the past four years.
