Starr Beat of Evanston Returns to Teach Drama Course at Garrett I natitute Returning· from an early winter lecture tour in Florida to teach a twelve weeks' course at Garrett institute in the drama, and to supervise the judging of the manuscripts entered in the Drama league's national religious play contest, Mrs. A. Starr Best of Evanston, is deep in the drama movement with which her name is nationally and internationally coupled. While in Florida she gave a series of lectures on the drama in Jacksonville, Orlando, Winter Park and Tampa and gave single lectures in other places in the state. At Garrett she is teaching three courses, one in the elements of the use of drama in the church, another in elementary drama, and the third an evening seminar in play appreciation. The contests organized by the Drama league, both sacred and secular. have closed, and a local committee appointed by Mrs. Best is doing the preliminary judging of the 104 manuscripts entered in the sacred drama contest. Its members include Gareth P . Leverton of the School of Speech faculty, Prof. Oliver Farnsworth Mrs . Edwin Price, Miss Greta Goffe, Eugene Frost, Mrs. Ralph Dennis, John Allen Stewart, Mrs. Bertha Burrill. Mrs. Frederick Dickinson and Edward Crowley. The final judging wilJ be done by Dr. Norman Richardson~ Harold Ehrensperger and Mrs. Best. M iss Inez Webster, 314 Oxford road, Kenilworth, who returned to Smith college last week, stopped off at Utica, N. Y. to attend a party at Hamilton college.
