A memorial service for Mrs. Dorothy C. Newton, formerly of Evanston, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie. Mrs. Newton, who had lived in Winter Park, Fla. for the past several years, died Oct. 21 while visiting family in Buffalo, N.Y. She was 72. Mrs. Newton is survived by two sons, Donald C. Arries of Northfield, and Leslie G. Arries of suburban Buffalo, N.Y.; two brothers, Martin J. and Charles R. Carney; a sister, Mrs. Helen Fairchild; and six grandchildren. An Evanston resident for almost 35 years, Mrs. Newton was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist. In lieu of flowers, members of the family have asked that contributions be made to charity.
