Bertha D. Backstrom, 47, of 828 17th St., Wilmette, died Dec. 23 at her home. She is survived by her husband, William F., and three sons, James, Robert, and John, all at home; one brother, William Heinz; and three sisters, Margaret Rihle, Mary Blakemore, and Lucille Klieber. Services were held Dec. 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial was at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
