Peter Steffens, 81, 1529 Wilmette Av., Wilmette, died Jan, 27. A lifelong resident of the village, Mr. Steffens was a member of St. Joseph Holy Name Society. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Virgian Jennetten, Mrs. Dorothy Basting, Mrs. Catherine Pischl, and Mrs. Helene Childs; three sons, Maternus, Lester, and Charles; and three sisters, Mrs. Florence Poppel of Wilmette, Mrs. Elizabeth Dix, and Mrs. Marie Ecklund. The Rt. Rev. Charles Meter of St. Joseph's conducted the funeral service at Donnellan Funeral Home Jan. 31. Burial was at Memorial Park, Skokie.
