Miss Law, and ber sister, Ida, were founders of the Wornan's Reading circle of XiI- mette, whi.ch., vas afterwards fed- erated and bec ame' the Wilmette Vs/o- mnan's club. For two or three vears the reading circle . met weekly at Miss Law's home, filling a niuch n 1ee'ded want in the. life of' the women of the. village i l bot h a' literaryand social way. Ioterested jin Children-1 Miss Law was a member of a. large committee :known as the Elmwoôd Library. 'association, which- was car- ried, on for several years and after- wards merged into the public library. The Wilmette Free Public iibrary wvas .organized' on April 6, 1901, -and was carried ýonî in Jones hall until the. donated, Carnegieý library building. was completed and occupied ,In. 1904. AnaLaw was, appointed librarian and caint*inued to f111 that office until b~er resignittion on February 25,'1920, a period of nineteen years of faithfui - service.
