In a brilliant installation ceremony held Wednesday evening of . last week in the banquet hall of Shawnee Country club, James C. Leaton, 722 Washington avenue, becanie commander of Wilmette post No. 46, American Legion, and Mrs. Carl A. Peterson, 144 Maple avenue, became president of its auxiliary. Previous to the installations about 135 members and guests sat down to an elaborate dinner, during the progress of which they were entertained with several numbers of vocal and instrumental music and tap dancing. Commander Leaton and other. officers were installed by Grover Sexton of Chicago, past commander of the Seventh district. Mrs. Peterson. and her officers were installed by Mrs. Frank Dowd, 1502 Walnut avenue, past Seventh district director.
