She also presents intimate biograph- ical> sketches of outstanding person- alities in 'the literary, musical, and artistic world. Mvrs. Garten is welI known to wom- en's clubs, university groups, and, -radio, audiences in eleven states and bas' made several appea rances in our metropolitan area. Last spring she gave "The Bible Designed to Be Read as Living Litérature ' at the Garrett Biblical institute in Evans- ton, and she is regularly called upon to speak et our Kerniwort4h Neigh- bors club. One of the high-lights, of her ca- reer was the honor in 1934 of repré- senting the women of America in greetirig Rear Admirai Richard.E. Byrd and his men in Little America over a National Radio hook- up. Do you remember? The book she bas chosen to re- view for us is "God's Children," by Vardis Fisher, and we can promise that she will'make it live for us botb from a literary standpoint and from ber profound and sympathetic un- derstanding of buman nature.
