In connec- tion with the day there will be a large, lunicheon to which Radcliffe graduates from the whole state of Illinois are being invited. The lunicheon will be at 1 o'clock in the Trustees' lounge of the Science building and will be given ini honor of girls now students at Radcliffe and for those who are enter- ing Radcliffe this f ail. Among the en- tering freshmen is Miss Ann Seidel of River Forest, the first winner of Rad- cliffe's Chicago Regional scholarship, %vhich is to be given in succeeding year.s, as in this year, to a girl of outstanding character and scholastic ability. To Sponsor Broadcast Seven eastern colleges are sponsor- ing a speech to be broadcast October 22 by Mrs. Dwight 1L. Morrow and are -arranging for a gathering at somne central place in Chicago, where alumnae of the seven colleges will meet to listen to the broadcast. Mrs. Morrow will speak on the general subject of women's colleges and be- quests to them. Her talk will be given from 5 to.5 :15 in the afternoon, Eastern Standard time. The colleges cooperating in presenting Mrs. Mor- row are Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Mt. Holyoke, Radcliffe, Smith, Vassair and Wellesley. Two pageants are presented each day at the village-"2The Birth oi the Flag" and "Paul Reveres Ride." From the niembers of the chapter of the D. A. R. wvhich is hostessing that day. is chosexi the Martha for that evening's pageant. Mount Vernon is a mecca for loyers of Colonial history, and for people who admire the firiture of Shera- ton, Chippendale, and Hepplewhite and of the early American furniture makers. One table in the west parlor, made by a Mr. Flint is valued at one thousand dollars. An exquisite spin- net in the music room is the delight of ail the visitors who corne to Mount Vernon. 'Can one play on it?" is the question asked by those who go through the rooms. In the hall is one of the original revenue stamps that 66caused the trouble."
