Miss Wren Staley, 2525 Lincoln street, Evanston, is the newly ap- pointed dean of students at the col- lege. Miss Staley has her master's degrec from Northwestern university and has held the position of dean of women in several institutions in the East: Mi'ss Elizabeth Steel, a graduate of the institutional management course at Pratt Institute, cornes to the National College of Education f rom Ohio Wes- leyan university, Delaware, Ohio, where she bas been director of the placement service, to act as hiostess and head of the Mariethal hall, the college dormitory. Miss Steel will be under the direction of Miss Staley. Among the new members of the faculty for the coming year are: David Russell, science instructor and director of science and arithmetic in the seventh and eighth grades of the denonstration school, bas bis bachelor's dégree from the University of Pennsylvania and bis master's de- gree from Western Reserve univers- ity. Mr. Russell bas been witb the Hawken Country Day scbool, Cleve- land, Ohio, for several years and bas had complete charge. of the camp ,which bas been conducted during the -summer for the students of that scbool. O. D. Frank of the University of, Chicago will be a special lecturer in the college during the coming year; lie wvll lecture ini science orientation. Parley Major Max Woldenberg of Hub- bard Woods is to attend à meeting of the board of directors of the Re- serve Officerý association of the United States, Department of Ilii- hois. at Bloomington, Sunday, Sep- tember 16. *Major Woldenberg was elected a director of the Department of Illi- nois at its last conventon beld May 24 and 25 ini Champaign-Urbana.
