Winnetka, dean of, boys at.New Trier High s cbool, last Tbursday was reelected chairman of the board of, control of the Suburban league, comprising seven suburban higli schools-New Trier, Oak Park, Waukegan, Evansý- ton, Proviso,, Deerfi eld- Shields and Morton. Mr. Kabler bas been chair- man of the board since the league's organization in 1928. One of the more important items of business transacted by the board was the adoption of the Higli School Federation of America's football rules. These miles allow forward passing from anywhere behind the line of scrimmage instead of from points at least five yards behind the line and are intended to "open up" the game. Other springý tour- naments will be held as follows: ten- nis,. at Oak Park; indoor track, at Oak, Park; outdoor track, at Evans- ton, and swimming, at New Trier. The, national cllegiate rules for swimming were adopted, with two exceptions.' There will be' no 200- yard free style event for boys com- peting in. the senior division and no 100-yard free style event for boys of the junior division. Former New Trier Boy Wins State Golf Titie Chester Bland, who last year was a member of the New Trier Higli school golf team, -,von the 1934 Illi- nois, higli school golf championship at the Nortbmoor Country club at Peoria last Saturday afternoon. The youth is a junior at Rockford Higli school this year, having transferred there from New Trier., Bland played consistent golf to win over a fiîeld of sixty-two dis- trict winners. His score for thirty- six holes. was 152, a 76 on the' first, eigliteen and the same on the sec- ond ,eighteen. Deksnis of Tilden Tecb, Chicago, won second place in the state meet with a total of 155.. Louis Castiglioni of Rockford was third with 157., IN METHODIST PULPIT Dr. William D.
