A host of ranking stars are play- ing in this opening event inciuding such well knowns as Billy Condy of Wilmnette, who was runner. up in the national championships last year: Carlton Prouty of Winnetka, Miss Trudie Schnur of Glencoe, Western champion; Coleman Clark, former national champion, Mrs. Edith Mc- Fadzean and, a score of lesser lights. Mr. Average Player will be given a break as 'a special consolation event will be run off for ail those who are eliminated in the first two rounds in the men's singles. Entries will be accepted by R.
