Valley chapter of thé DaughterS of the American Révolu- tion held its'opening at The Chimi- neys Tavern, September 24, with a luncheon at 12:30 o'clock, at which Mrs, J. K. Farley, Jr., the, regent, presided. After a short. address of welcome the state regent,. Mrs. Julian G. Goodhue, was introduced and gave a very inspiring and inter- esting talk. on the Constitution of the United States. Mr$. Raymond Kimbeli, chaplain general of the National society, brought a message of greeting andi congratulation from Mrs. Russell William Magna, president general at Washington, D. C., to the Skokie Valley chapter in recognition of its achievement in erecting the historic tablet on Christ church lych-gate. The visiting presiding regents ivere then introduced by Mrs. Farley and each made a short address. They were Mrs. F. J. Dickson, of the Chicago chapter; Mrs. E. J. Albrecht, of the Gen. Henry Dearborn chapter; Mrs. E. R. Phelps, North -Shore chapter in Highland Park, Mrs. James D. Lightbody of Glencoe chapter, and Mrs. Ray Thomas of Waukegan chapter. Kappa Delta Mothers Form. New Organization The Kappa Delta Mothers' asso- ciation held its first meeting in the new recreation room of the chapter house in Evanston on September 27.' The newly elected officers are Mrs. W. A. Mockler, president; Mrs. J. H. Bristol, vice-president; Mrs. P. F. S c h ock, corresponding secretary; Mrs. L. W. Bowles, recording secre- tary ; Mrs. F. M. A number of parties was given in honor of Mrs. Prentiss, including a dinner by her host and hostess, a bridge party at which Mrs. Herbert Peterson was hostess, and a luncheon given by Mrs. Burton Ellis of Ev- anston.
