The inauguration of th~e annual dinner of the Wilrnette Girl Scouts Wednesday evening of last 1week wasa great success. More than eighty persons were in attendance and aliseemed happy to be there and enjoyed a delicious dinner served- ef-* *ficiently. by our older Girl Scouts. The programt was a novel one. Representatives fromn the varions civic organizations in the village gave a one* 'minute express ion'of civic work contributed by their several organ- izations.On and ail gave expres- sions also to the highý place which (;irl Scouting holds and offered their assistance toaid in any way, Speak )oier"hl. This sincere feeling of helpfulness and . "at-oneness" of. the village as repreésented, so overwhelmed our speaker,. Mrs. Walter, Cavanagh 'of Kenosha, a mnember of the National board from Ibis' district. that she confessed she could flot give the talk shehçbd . prepat'ed-4ýt wasn't neces- sary. She merely stressed the joy to be gained by aduits frôm the work with youflg girls.. Even the election of officers and new council members had beeni accomplished be- forehand. Mrs. Moulding then introdu ced the new members of 'the council, offic-ers and the advisory board. We had a lot of fun seeing how old twi0's were, by counting the notches; then, too, we found rabbits' footprints in the snow, whicli were leading- into- a hole in the ground.: We also saw a number of squirrels' nestg. .We had toreturn to tbe. churcb by 5 o'clock,- so .weç scurried, mbt the car and started ýback., We, sang "Taps" and' pur meeting ýwas closed.-Dorothea Hartw*ig, scribe. TROOP 4 Our meeting at Troop 4 last week consisted of1 lots of, fun and. games. Miss Humphries -was teaching some girls signaling and Miss Palmer coached' us in' garnes. One of the first games we played was "Air, Fire and Water." Another wag "Long and Short Sleeves," a fine game in- <Ieed. TROOP 2 Mrs. Denoyer had a lovely surprise for the girls. Can you guess what the surprise* was? Well, ail rigbt, I will tell you. Each girl was given a bar of soap.
