- Howard Berndt, 74, of Johnsburg, died October 23, 2013 at Centegra Hospital in McHenry. He was born December 12, 1938 in Chicago to Elmer and Hilda (Budde) Berndt. He was the father of Scott (Rhonda) Berndt, Mark (Julie) Berndt, Cheryl (Gary) Smith, Pamela (Dan) Solomon and Brian (Deanna) Berbdt. He was the husband of Eleanor C. Berndt whom he married April 30, 1960. He preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, on August 7, 2011, his parents, and a brother, Albert "Spud" Berndt. He is survived by his five children, grandchildren, a great grandchild, Moe Farhat, his sister Pam Nordgren, and a brother Roger (Jaci) Berndt.
