- Richard D. Benson, 62, of Algonquin, died October 19,2013 in Algonquin. He was born January 6,1951 in Elgin to Edwin Benson Sr. and Katherine "Katy" Benson. He was the father of Zachary Benson and Benjamin Benson. He was the husband of Francine (nee Smietanaka). He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Katy Benson, and an uncle, Richard Pierce Benson. He is survived by his wife, Francine, his children, Zachary and Benjamin, his brother, Edwin "Roy" (Diane) Benson, his nephews, Eric and Adam Benson, his cousins, William Markowitz, Michael Markowitz, Donald Wagner, Renee Wagner Steel, Carol Wagner Borrelli, Luann Markowitz Bauer, Janice Markowitz McGowan and Nora Campbell Warrington, and his aunt, Cecilia "Bun" Wagner. Burial will be in Algonquin Cemetery.
