- James Charles O'Connor, 78, of Cary, passed away on January 31, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 2, 1935 in Chicago to Francis "Chick" O'Connor and Loretta Marie (nee DeMol) O'Connor. James was the husband of Diane Frances Dembowski, whom he married on October 19, 1957. He is survived by his wife, his daughters, Karen (Michael) Detloff, Kathy (John) Guzak, Gayle Gillmann, Ellen (Scott) Drahos; grandchildren, Jim (Tara), Shaun, Matt, John Ryan, Megan, Kristen, Kelsey, Kaity, Colleen, Maggie, Adam, Khloe; great-granddaughter, Kayden, sister-in-law, Paula O'Connor, brother-in-law, Tom Byrne; many nieces and nephews, and former son-in-law, Steve Gillmann. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Frank "Bud" O'Connor, Rosemary (late Bob) Clement and Kathy Byrne.
