Last Sunday evening there was a full meeting and a service of 1 much interest. We rejoice in this as a move in the right direction. Without interfering with any other evening service our young people should make that evening hour one of great practical utility in cultivat- ing the Christian life among them~ selv ‘s and others this summer. It will involve some special work and pains on the part of the leaders, but it always pays to do good Work well. A recent trip out into the country as far as Northfield and Avon, where they have good bank gravel roads, suggested to us the wisdom of try- ing that gravel on some of our cross streets where there is Little or no heavy teaming. Those country roads * were well crowned first, good deep , gutters opened on either side. and then the gravel put on, a good quan- tity the first year, a less quantity the second year and so on for two or three years, till they have a hard, compact road bed.
