The truss bridge over the ravine is I32 instead of 70 feet. The ravine is 32 feet deep under the bridge and soon drops away to 60 and 70 feet. There are nine acres in the property by actual measurement. It is not a public park, but private property, and not a place for a rabble or picnic, but quiet, well-bred, orderly people are always welcome to look over the grounds. Three“ prisoners tried to break jail in Waukegan Tuesday night. One 9f them was Andereck, sent up by Judge Hibhard. They only had a pair of broken scissors to start with, it is said, and were digging through the outside wall when another pris- oner yelled and they were discovered. How is our county jail run anyhow? This is the secondjttempt where prisoners get out of those steel cells and cage. ' J. S: Townshend, president of the Mutual Security Building and Loan association of Chicago and family ispent the Sunday with N. 0. Moon of Glenmore, at the north end of town. He would make a good citizen; he pays his hills and would pay taxes, too, for he would have a choice home. Ross Fletcher tried his hand on Harry Mills' recalcitrant mule one day this week and the quadruped soon knew ‘who held the ribbons. Rev. E. B.
