Thomas enter- tained last. Sunday at a reunion and farewell "neighborhoml" dinner for Mr. and Mm. Geo. 1‘. Hughes and daughter Madeline, who will leave next week for their new home at San Francisco, Calif. The Hughes and Tho‘mns families have lived side by side on Saratoga avenue for 28 years. Those’prosent were Mr. and Mrs. Hughes and daughter. Madeline, Mrs. A. (5. Prince of Iowa (My. la.. who formerly lived in tho Wells houxl‘ Mr. and Mrs. Slefly and children and Miss Anna Kelh-I' of Chicago. Esther Zell and Clam Johnson were hostesses at a farewell party at the Zell home on North Main st. last Sat- urday night in honor of Marie Brutus, ‘who is soon to leave the village with {her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bruns. Bunco was played after which refreshments were served, all present having a delightful time. Those at the party were Marie Bruns, Anto~ nette Smith, Esther Zell, Clara John' son, Margaret Smith, Alice Conley, Elsie Mien Cynthia Cooper, Lily Bor- man. Phyllis and Lois Bums and Frances Rockwell. Mix. Ethel M. Bryan, 01' Downers Grow, was a visitor on ApIil 6th at ‘the big exhibit of Southem Califor- ‘I.iu products maintained free to the public in the Log Angelcs Chamber of Commerce . She also attended the lectures and moving pictulcs that are a part of the daily pmgrgm. The oxnibit is the largest of any in the country maintained by a commercial organization.
