He surviv the operation and for a time seemed to-be on a fair way to recovery, and when cold weather set in, he was well enough to go south, where he hoped to entirely regain his wanted strength. But his trip was a failure and a dis- appo pointment, for scarcely had he arrived at his destination when he was stricken by a fatal illness and remmed to his home to die.
