Tomorrow (Sunday) preaching will be at 3. 30 p. m. instead of 7:30 p. m. at the Ravinia church. Sunday schoolnas usual, 2:30 p. m. The public school will have a ï¬ne Christmas entertainment next week Friday. The school is full of talent and the _ entertainment should be a bummer. Tuesday night unknown parties entered the Ravinia station, and. with the stove poker as an in? strument, broke open the gum ma- chine and stole all the gum and money in the “kadorence.†The robbing of the gum machine has occurred several times at Lakeside, but this is the ï¬rst time at Ra- vinia. ' Station Agent Pritclmrd decid; ed during the recent cold snap that Ravinia was too cold for him and 80 left he station before being checke off by the auditor. Prit- chard went to Chicago but was brought bacK and founditobe $11 short in his cash. He was given but a .shofwtime to maKe up short- age, whic he did. It is said he also owed other bills around the village. Mr. John Reifenberg, assistant agent at Winnetxa is temporarily in charge of the station. ‘ It is an interesting question to some of just what difference the electric line has made in the busi- ness.of the Chicago Northwest- ern railway. It is quite surpris- ing to note the difference the electric road makeé with trip travel. Before the road came Ravlnla. Sheridan Road News-Letter. SATURDAY. SUPPLEMENT through aninia the Chicago 5 Northwestern averaged a sale of ï¬ve tickets per thy. Now that the electric line is in operation the number of tickets sold by the Northwestern has somewhat de- creased. A conservative estimate is that they now sell but one-ticket in fourteen days. Verily the elec- tric road is "gettin’ that." A mild sensation was caused re- cently when one morning this week the C. 6'; N. W. waiting room was found cold and both stove doors were missing; it was supposed at ï¬rstvth‘at they had been stolen for old iron, -~but ‘it was afterwards learned that they had simply been taken in the ofï¬ce to prevent the tramps closing the stove door and burning up too much coal at night. The Ravinia Sunday School will have a ï¬rst class Christmas enter- tainment a Week ' from today. Among other attractions will, be a phonograph from the Park. All the members of the school will re- ceive a present, and possibly a few others that attend will re- ceive 'presents. , The progrsmvwill consist of from twelve to ï¬fteen numbers, and a fine time is prom- ised for all. Everybody is in- vited. »The program will appear in next week's issue. ~ The last and ï¬nal meeting of the Ravinia Imprnvenwnt society was held last Monday evening, Mr. G. ‘R.
