' The mothers' and girls' banquet held in the lunch room of the high school Saturday evening was quite a successful , and well planned affair. One hundred and seventy banqueters enjoyed the very good supper which was nicely sen ed by an efficient corps of girls. The color scheme of the lunch room was green. the decorations being strips of green crepe paper and showers of shamrocks hung from the lights. Following the banquet Mrs. John Welch. who acted as mistress of ceremonies. addressed the mothers and girls in the form of welcome and then turned the meeting over to Mrs. Henry Atwater, who acted as toast- mistress. Miss Jane Marshall of Lake Forest spoke on “Our Mothers and Teach~ ‘ grs." this was followed by a \‘lUlln duet by the Misses Dorothy Mason and Hertha vaan accompanied by Jane Marshall on the piano. Mrs. William Anderson of Lake Forest. gave a toast to "Our DaughA ters." in the form of an original poem. , very cleverly read; Miss Loise Noyes then sang sweetly. a group of three songs ; accompanied on the piano by Mrs. C. N. Kimball. The remainder of the program consisted of a talk by Mrs. E. W. Spencer on “Ideals of Womanhood," a reading from Hiawatha by Miss Alice H.
