LAYING TRAIIS AND ’ ‘ L06 STEPS 0N BLUFF Will Build Trail. to the Lalo Al 1. of Etch of the Street. Which T minus at the Bluff. Other Improvement. The (My Beautiful Commission ht: made plans for the development of the Central Avenue Park, which will greatly increase its usefulness, as well‘ as beauty, if carried out. City workmen are now laying trail: and log steps down and along the blutf, which are to be covered with gravel for a better footing, and will serve to make the beach more acces- sible. The Commission desires to re- hwve the unsightly wooden staircase leading to the powur plant and build winding log steps in its place, which will be easier to climb and attractive. :These trails they also propose to build ;to the lake at the end of each of the Zstreets which terminates on the bluff, ‘such as Laurel, Prospect and Hazel avenues, us a great many wish to go l down to the beu'ch from such streets. ’ and there are now no easy ways of do- avenues, : down to ‘ and there mg 50. The plans also call for doing away‘ with the rugged paths through the; center of the park, and making two trails in place of them; one along the edge of the ravine and the other along the top of the bluff, leading to the ‘steps to the beach. A campfire has ul- :ready been laid out on the junction of ;the two ravines. commanding beauti- qul views to the west and north. This :should prove an immediate con- venience to picnicers. w ‘ . , _..:ll B ....... The Connnisflon “in be ceive suggestions for the t the park.or any objecfions occur to anyone as to d changes.
