TO RESURFACE ROAD Representative Chindblom Respons- ible for the Improvement of Sheridan Road Through the efforts of our representâ€" tive, Mr. Carl R. Chindbloom, an ap- propriation of $5,000 has been secured from the Navy department to assist in resurfacing the Sheridan road be- tween Lake Bluff and North Chicago. During the recent activities of the Great Lakes Training Station, they have used this highway practically as. a freight yard, and'have torn it up ‘ time and time again in installing utili- lties for the Station. which. together {with the immense traffic, which they ‘have caused on this road, has made iit practically impossible to maintain in good condition for any length of time. and the maintenance, such as it has been. has devolved upon the Town of Shields for a station which is of national scope and beneï¬t. l Mr. Charles E. Russell. Lake Coun- ty Superintendent of Highways, has taken this matter up with the Navy department and through the efl'orts of Mr. (‘hindhloonn expressed in con- ferences with Secretary Daniels and others of the Department of the Navy and the Bureau of Yards and Docks. has been able to secure the appropria< tion to assist in resurfacingr the road. so that it may be in better condition for traffic next season. cht year the Green Bay road will be shut oil' for A considerable portion of the sea- son. on account of the construction 1‘ I“ :5...“ \Ll rnnll which will leave for a cnnsidt-rahlv pm‘tinn n! me scu- son. on account uf thv mnstructiun Hf Federal Aid mad. which will leave the Sheridan mad the only road fur trafï¬c between (‘hirzxgu 1.1141 Milwau- kw. ; thn L. 1'40) 3‘11 of the (has. um Central me | for $5,000, «'mï¬ 3x W Total ‘ .369 1 n Lulu H‘ t' lwnrli \Vi REA 1.
