Great interest ha been amused in all music circles over the contest. On Sunday. April 9, Mr. Finston and his Chicago Thcntm Symphony Orchestra are devoting their entire Sunday morning symphony concert (11:45 a. m.) to numbers from the,contest list. and the management is offering spe- cial students rate (half price) to all schools where a contest is being held. In the grade school contest at New Trier Elm Place ranked third, with Evanston, Dist. 75 leading. and Wil- mette second. Glencoe was fourth and Winnetka fifth. The final team for Elm Place will be Kathryn Wayne. Eliubeth BoothLDorothy May, Anne Wood and Clover’ Benson. The five students r‘nking highest from eav'h school will constitute the team that goes to Orchestra Hall. Deerfield’s five will be June Freeman, Virginia 0nderdonk and Harriet Gor- by, each of whom had perfect score: (250). Elizabeth Holland (249) and Edna Walther (240). Henry Dick- inson will be alternate. Out. of a possible total score for each team of 5000 points, New Trier totaled 4799 ngninst Deerfield's 4357.
