Graduate of DePaul U., outstanding scholar and athelete, inducted into DePaul Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008; member of National Guard, Major General and Commander of six thousand troops in Illinois; served in European Theater during WWII; Knight Grand Cross in Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem; preceded in death by his wives, Marley, and Lee Elizabeth in 1997 and son, Michael in 2009
