Age 83; born in Evanston; served as a naval aviator in the Pacific, flying PBM aircraft and remained active in the Naval Reserve at the Naval Air Station until he retired in 1984; worked in education for 32 years, employed by Glenview School District 34, principal of Westbrook School from 1959-81; member of the Hangar One Foundation, past president of United Way and Glenview Mental Health Association; preceded in death by two brothers, Richard (Lettie) and Paul (Marion) and two sisters, Julia (Charles) Kemnitz and Corinne (Fred) Hagedorn
