Survived by: his wife, Mary Alice Hynes; two daughters, Katie Davis of Glenview, and Mary Howard of Tampa, FL; a son, Edward L. Hynes IV of Wilmette; two sisters, Mary Hynes and Anne Garnier, both of Manchester, NH; a brother, Thomas W. Hynes, also of Manchester, NH; and five grandchildren.
Edward Hynes III, 72, was a 32-year resident of wilmette, who died at Evanston Hospital. Mr. Hynes was a retired sales supervisor for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, having worked for the firm for 38 years. He was a former commissioner on the Wilmette Park Board, a member of the North Shore Country Club and a member of Faith, Hope and Charity Catholic Church in Winnetka. Mr. Hynes was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy submarine fleet during World War II. A mass was offered at the Church with Rev. Msgr. Eugene Lyons presiding. The family asks that any memorial contributions be made to the United Parkinsons Foundation, 220 S. State St., Chicago 60604.
