Northrop; graduate of West H.S. in Minneapolis and U. of Minnesota, earned master's degree, teaching assistant in Psychology Department; married in Seattle September 8, 1944 before husband's minesweeper, USS Strategy, headed for South Pacific; after WWII moved to Chicago, worked as research assistant at U. of Chicago and in personnel at Marshall Field & Co. while husband earned a law degree; Glenview homemaker; early 1960's president of Glenview League of Women Voters, on boards of Illinois League of Women Voters and Chicago Council on Foreign Relations; preceded in death by her husband, Chicago attorney Herbert C. Loth Jr.
