Obtained master's degree and teaching certificate from Northeastern Illinois University. Taught French at Flower Vocational High School in Chicago beginning in 1992. Transferred to Roosevelt High School in 1994; retired in 2013. Purchased retirement home in Sturgeon Bay WI in 2011. Active in Chicago Teachers' Union; also owned and rehabbed apartment buildings.
