Survived by: Children Steven (Christita), Paula and Marc; grandchildren Steven Jr. and Jonas; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Born in Evanston IL to Stonewall Jackson and Anna Mae Mance. Enlisted in Air Force at age 19. Served as ground safety instructor for Tuskegee Airmen and safety engineer for Titan Missile Project during Korean War. Later worked for IBM and as university lecturer in public speaking and business communiciations. Moved to New Mexico in 1990 to teach at University of New Mexico. Later worked as security guard until age 82. Lifetime member of NAACP.
