Age 91; born in Piper City, Illinois and grew up in Fairbury, Illinois; attended Illinois State U. and Northwestern U.; served with U.S. Army Air Corps in WWII; began career as a linotype operator, briefly a sportswriter for the Cuyahoga Falls Reporter in Ohio, worked for Illinois state treasurer's office, Michigan National Bank and Citizen's Bank and Trust in Park Ridge from 1950 to 1981; passion for service to his community, honored in 2005 with the Cook County Sheriff Michael Sheahan's Senior Medal of Honor for his years of volunteer work; preceded in death by his wife, Eliza
