_ _ * VOLUME XvH 1* Women Give Aid In view of this it is little wonder that every year a large number of women who live in the North Shore towns which extend from Rogers Park to Waukegan rally to the call of Ravinia and do all they can to furâ€" ther its interests. The new commitâ€" tees of the Ravinia club which will function during the coming season have now been organized, and have adopted for their slogan "A .Ravinia coupon book in every home." These coupon books have proven to be a wonderful convenience for Ravinia patrons as they are not only sold at a discount, but prevent all delays at the gates on performance nights. They are good for varying numbers of admissions and for the performâ€" ances the holder may select. Mr. Eckstein Guest Mr. Eckstein was a guest at the luncheon meeting and told members of the club many details of the plans he has formulated for the season of 1927. Much interest was manifested when he told them of a few of the problems and difficulties which are bound to arise, not only during the time that the season is in actual More than two hundred North Shore women, who form the Ravinia club, met at the Moraine hotel at Highland Park last week for the anâ€" nual luncheon of the organization. It was a splendid demonstration of that community pride of which this beauâ€" tiful residential section is justly faâ€" mous and a discussion of the plans for the coming Ravinia season arousâ€" ed great enthusiasm. . This unique musical institution is especially near to the hearts of North Shore residents, for while it is so big and farâ€"reaching in its effect that it belong to the whole music world, at the same time it is nestled among the trees in one of the finest sylvan spots on the North Shore, and therefore is held to belong in a special manner to that community. progress, but also during the weeks } and months which precede its openâ€"| ing. Bosworth, chairman of the Ravinia commission, have issued a call for a meeting of the community to considâ€" er ways and means of financing and building the proposed auditorium. It is hoped that there will be a large atâ€" tendance so that the sentiment of the community will be adequately repâ€" resented. _ Raviniaites are asked to come prepared to say to what extent they can participate. Ravinia citizens, led by the three civic and social organizations of the community, will hold a mass meeting in the Village House Monday evening, May 23, to rally support for the moveâ€" ment to construct an auditorium and civic center in comnection with the Ravinia sehool. ‘The school board recognizes the need of Ravinia for an auditorium such as those found in the Lincoln and Eim Place schools but reports that it cannot appropriate the sum of $60,000 or $70,000 whi% it is estimatâ€" ed will be requireg to build a proper auditorium in connection with the Raâ€" vinia school plant. _ It is indicated that the community itself must take initiative and that the board will do what it can to help realize the projâ€" ect. Ravinia‘s population has grown rapâ€" idly during recent years with the reâ€" sult that the school facilities are seâ€" riously overtaxed and instruction in music, dramatics and allied subjects is carried on under great difficulty.
