Last week this poem was chosen by Elizabeth Morris and reâ€" ceived favorable comment, because it expressed the love of nature and the out of ~doors. * "Out. in the Fields With God" = ~The littleâ€"care that fretted me. Part of these snails are in the camp fire room and are being cared for by the group. After fishing out snails for half an hour we returned home with a quart jar full of snails. > * When we reached the marsh we had several tasks to preform such as getâ€" ting a jar to put the snails in. â€"â€" We â€"reached the marsh after bravirjg such things as barbed wire fences, mude holes, etc., to hinder us. â€"Luckâ€"was with us however for we got the chauffeur to drive us out. We had good intentions of riding out on our bicycles, but we had gone a short distance and were halted with a puncture and had to come back. Campâ€"fire gives a girl fun, gloriâ€" ous fun out of doors, in all kinds of weather, and indoors in your homes, and at all kinds of parties. * Camp fire opens doors. and points out strength to climb all kinds of hills that are found in life." ts Camp fire girls have: a springâ€"to their step, a lift to their heads, a light in their eyes that communicates aâ€"purpose and a joy in living that cannot be found in all, girls. The Lewaâ€"Anahan Camp Fire Girls have moved into a new room. Maâ€" terials have been bought for curtains, table runners and pillows. Old furâ€" niture is being collected on which the girls â€"will use their decorative skill in making it attractive.. ' f â€" It has been asked that suitable books, furniture or anything that will kelp to fill in the empty . corners be given so that the girls can have an attractive room to work and play in. If you have anything to donate to the girls call H. P. 1695. â€". _ Girls Have Worthy Ideals Why are camp fire girls différent from other girls ? They were all colors of the rainbow, they had large round button eyes, which stared up at me in a wistful way, and made me feel like going over and patting them. Theyall had. the longest, lankiest legs which made them all out ofâ€"proâ€" portion and made them appear all the more ridieulous. These are the mascots of the Lewaâ€" Anahan Campfire Girls. _ â€"Noâ€"oneâ€"was there, so T threw myâ€" self down in a chair. For lack of anything to «do, (if there had been anything I. would have been too lazy) I took a glance around the room and there was a table with a neat pile of books. The chairs were filled with lovely: soft cushions and a ~cool ‘breeze ~gently blew the new tan‘ curtains. _ These were familiar sights, but what was that over on the couch"? .:; > â€"First I stared in amazement, then I burst out in laugher, for there in A Row of Dogs . _One warm afternoon after school, I climbed up a flight of narrow stairs ahd burst into a beam of sunlight, \ihich flooded our new camp fire: room.
