W. C. O. F. Convention in Chicago August 6 The International® Convention of the Woman‘s Catholic Order of Forâ€" esters will be held in Chicago beginâ€" ning Tuesday, August 6th. A solâ€" emn high mass will be read at 10:00 a. m. at the Holy Name Cathedral, State and Superior streets. A banâ€" quet will take place at 6:30 p. m., at the Ambassador hotel at 1300 N. JONES _ OF OLD ELM DIES but it was not until his case was diagnosed at Mayo Brothers that it was learned how ill he was. Taken there Monday, July 22, it was learnâ€" ed that his case was hopeless, and he died from the effects of a stroke Satâ€" urday. Walter Jones had a wide acquaintâ€" ance in Highland Park and Lake Forest and was well known and acâ€" tive in fraternal circles in both cities. Hail fellow well met, he was uniâ€" versally liked for his . goodâ€"natured raillery, his wit, and for. his agreeâ€" able personality, which made him a valued employe of Old Eim and the life of the party at gathcrings of his Icdges. Elks Plan Gala Day at Columbian C. C. *The Columbian Country club will be the scene of much gaiety on‘ next Wednesday, Aug. 7th when the local order of Elks will hold their second Gala Day. The club is beautifully situated on Milwaukee avenue, ons mile north of Wheeling and it is the hope of the committee in charge that all will avail themselves ofâ€"the "opâ€" portunity to visit and enjoy the fine golf links and partake of the deliciâ€" ious dinner to be served.
