Thursday in the opinion of R. M. Lobdell, county supâ€" erintendent of highways. While application of the tax will not meet with favor in‘ Lake counâ€" ty, residents of this county will fare better under the tax than those in most other counties in the state for the reason that much of the money to be paid for gasoline in this counâ€" ty will be expended by visitors. Oneâ€"third of the amount collected will be returned to Lake county to be used for road building and mainâ€" tenance purposes. § Lake county with the possible exâ€" ceptionâ€"of Cook county attracts more visitors from outside its confines than any other county in Illinois. ~Thouâ€" sands of automobiles come into the county. every day, many of them tourists who pass through on imporâ€" tant highways but the most of them headed for lakes in this county.
