A pleasant air of informality per- vaded at the party given by the Deer- field American Legion Post _No. 738, last Wednesday evening in the Ma. sonic Temple, which was decorated in red, white and blue for the occasion. The entertaining features of the evening were, a delightful program, dancing, and refreshments. Legion Party Proves Delightful Affair Mr, A. G. chmp was chairman of the entertainment committee and ar- ranged a very tine program. Those who appeared included Professor Aguston, Swiss Enigma who cleverly entertained with tricks, mind reading, etc.; Alice Le Tarte, soloist; May and Kilduit, who gave a comedy sketch; Thursday, March 6, 1930 L. Bottom}? of Highland Park; Charles Kapschull, eighth district commander, told of the work being done for ex-service men and orphans and gave a number of reasons why all Legionnaires should be proud to have a part in this work. The party called forth many com- plimentary remarks from the guests upon leaving and assured Commander Geo. Briggs and comrades that they were perfect hosts and hoped they would duplicate the occasion in the very near future. Mr. F. Bonn, chairman of the re- freshment committh was responsible for the delicious reput. Bannockburn Garden Club Meet Interesting The Bannockburn Garden irhsb held its regular monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Kenneth Towler on Monday, March 3. A very interesting talk a Rock Gardens was given by Mr. J. R. Foote of Winnetka.
