Thursday, March 18, 1980 Troop tt Troop 31 went out to the Cabin in the Woods last Friday night and Sat- urday morning. We arrived at the Cabin at five o'clock and immediately started to clean up the camp and build the fires. We were sorry to see that some of the troops were very lazy and that the dishes were very dirty as a result of their lazynass. .After dinner we told stories and then went to bed. The next morning we went on a hike and then went home. At our last meeting we had a knot- tying contest. Harry Lankford’s ta- trol won. For our game we played Capture the Flaq.-Bob White, Re, porter. Scoutmaster Olson and Assistant Scoutmaster Copp could not attend so Committee- man Ewell took charge of the meet- ing. The first half hour was used for passing tests. After that we had 25 minutes of drilling with 40 minutes of play, The Seagull patrol had its weekly meeting at Patrol Scribe Richard Suess home. We passed second and first class tests. We decided to pass Saturday at Great Lakes. The patrol mixing was closed with the oath and la Patrol Reporter Richard Stress. Great White Eagle of Troop M The former seagull patrol of Troop 35 Ravinia has changed its name to the Great White Eagle. The meet- ing of the Great White Eagle was held at John Kraft's house. We had a pool game which was followed by a good meeting. Highland Park Thursday evening at 7:15 our troop went to the Northwestern Ob- servatory to see the moon and Supi- ter. 23 scouts were present and there were four drivers. Lake Forest At the last meeting of Troop M, Mr. Soreson was present to instruct us in marching and drills. Our meet- ings are getting better right along as all the boys are in uniform and nearly all are present. We play new scouting games also. In Libertyville Mr. McManusrhand- led a discussion on the patrol unit, Both programs are identical with the one conducted in Winnetka. In the game contest the Beavers had the edge on the other patrol. Bob Rouse says it will be changed by next time. Deerfield Press Club The Deertleld Press club held its weekly meeting on March 5 in the Miee of Mr. Charles Kapschull. There were two present, they were Kenneth Vetter and Milton Manner. Troop 52, Deerlleld The regular weekly meeting of Troop 52 was held at the Presbyter- ian church. 10 scouts were prelent. The meeting was opened with the usual ceremony after which therusl- ness was taken up and the court of award was discussed. We then worked on 'our projects of leather craft and chair caneing.
