During that time I have come into very close contact with every County office and know exactâ€" ly the duties of the office of Sheriff, an office which serves and aids every other county position. Pettis attended a trap shooting tournament at the Lincoln Park Gun club, Chicago, on Sunday. Lincoln Park members competed with Lake county and won by eight birds. The ten highest scores on each team were selected to determine the winning side. R. E. Pettis was among the ten highest for the Lake county team. The price of silver bullion is now at its low record, which may account for the fact that the silver lining to our clouds doesn‘t seem as bright as it used to be. a _ H. D.
