Peter Harder, star portsider flinger for Deérfield, and Vasilius, pitcher for the St. Anthony‘s team of Wauâ€" kegan, engaged in a pitcher‘s duel Sunday afternoon at Deerfield, and when the final returns were recorded the Saints had chalked up a fine 1 to 0 victory over the Deerfield aggregaâ€" tion in 10 innings. It was a Triâ€" County league fray. Harder‘s slants had the Saints bafâ€" fled, while Vasilius was just as effecâ€" tive against the Deerfield crew. The former was nicked for five blows, while his teamâ€"mates were credited with seven. Kapter, Saints, center fielder, was the only player to pole out an extra base hit. The Saints put over the one run in the tenth inning, Dickshot cracked out a single, stole second, and scored on another single by Bastye. It was by far the outstanding battle of the Triâ€"County league this year, and showed the prowess of the St. Anâ€" thony boys.
