Miss Dineen and Miss Hayes, both em- ployed at the Red Cross office, Chi- cago, together with Miss Ford, who although blind, is an accomplished dramatist and soloist, and her ac- companist visited the school. The songs and readings given by Miss Ford held the undivided attention of the students for a great portion of the afternoon. Students of The Malinckrodt have been very active in the transcribing of books for the blind. Special classeé in Braille were organized last year for students who wished to give their spare time after school hours to this praise-worthy work. They were so fascinated with it that it held their attention during the summer months. New classes in Braille will also be opened this year at The Mallinckrodt. Provide Fine Program for Blind, Wednesday Warns Against Sleek Magazine Salesmen A warning against sleek haired young men purporting to be selling magazine subscriptions to win I scholarship at Northwestern univer- sity was issued yosterdly by President Walter Dill Scott. Several complaints have been received recently by Pres. ident Scott from persons who have been victimized by these alleged col- lege students. "Northwestern university awards no scholurships for magazine sub- scriptions," said President Scott, “and no one is authorized to solicit sub. seriptions in the name of the univer- sity." Rev. K, A.
