Welch of Waukegan off the Demoâ€" cratic ticket as a candidate for cirâ€" cuit judge will not banish him from the field he declared last week as he laid plans for the fall campaign, acâ€" cording to a Waukegan paper. "There can be a blank where my name should be. It will be éloquent. The people of my party are an intel« ligent electorate and they can write in the name of James G. Welch," he declared. There had been talk that Welch would mandamus the supreme court to place his name on the ballot but he admitted that this action is imâ€" probable.
