Greene will give an illustrated lecture on Egypt at Highland Park Presbyterian church. Mr. Greene is a Highland Park boy and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George G. Greene have lived in Highland Park many years. â€" For the past three years Mr. Greene has been assisting in the chemistry, physics, and mathâ€" matics department of the American university of Cairo, Egypt. During that time he made many interesting trips in Africa, the Holy Land, and surrounding countries. The pictures which he will use are those which he has taken and will hold added interâ€" éest to those who see them because of Mr. Greene‘s personal contact with them, . All those interested in hearing Mr. Greene are cordially inâ€" vited to attend this service. Rotary Club Hears Talk by Member from Aurora The feature of the weekly luncheon session of the Highland Park Rotary club, held Monday noon in the Morâ€" aine hotel, was an interesting illuâ€" strated talk by Ralph Walker, a memâ€" ber of the Aurora club. Mr. Walker described interestingly and vividly a trip which he made last summer into the northern section‘of Canada and showed motion pictures of wild aniâ€" mals in their native habitate. The talk was greatly enjoyed by the large number of members ‘present. Annual Luncheon The women golfers of the Exmoor club will enjoy their annual luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the club. _ _ Win Football Tickets H. G. Sheridan The Men‘s Fellowship club will open its third series of dinners and adâ€" dresses in the parish house of the Presbyterian church on Tuesday, Ocâ€" tober 7. A reception will be held at 6:45 and dinner will be served promptâ€" ly at 7. ‘The speaker of the evening will be Mr. Harry Wheeler, chairman of the board of the First National Bank of Chicago, who will talk on tanking and finance in general. All of the men of Highland Park and vicinity are not only welcome but are urged to attend this meeting. Whether you are or are not a member of the club you are invited to be pregent. Membership is not limited to any church. â€" All the men are wanted. Men‘s Fellowship Club Opens Third Season on Oct. 7; Reception, Dinner This club was organized two years ago and in a short time has taken its rightful place in Highland Park. It is a place where men can gather and become acquainted and listen to the leaders in all lines. During the past the speakers have been such men as Mr. Martin J. Insull, Gen. Robert Wood, Dr. John Timothy Stone, Gen. Casper Conrad, Admiral W, S. Crossâ€" ley, and Dr. Herbert L. Willett. This year men of equal prominence will appear. The meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month from October to March inclusive. Dinner is served at a nominal charge per plate. Grass Fires Call Out Firemen; No Damage The city fire department made sevâ€" eral runs during the past week, but in each instance the cause was a grass fire, and no damage was reâ€" morted. Zona Gale, distinguished authoress and playwright, one of the most charming and successful women in guest speaker at the opening meeting. the ‘literary field of today, will be of the Ravina Woman‘s club to be held at the Ravinia Village house, next Wednesday, October 8. Miss Gale‘s subject will be "Tendâ€" ency in Modern Literature" with readings from her own books. HIGH Board Starts Suit Questioning Legality of Creation of School District Deerfieldâ€" Shields high school board, through its attorney, on Tuesday started quo warranto â€" proceedings against the new Lake Forest commuâ€" nity high school board to discover by what right the territory transferred to the Lake Forest school was taken from the Deerfieldâ€"Shields district, created last spring under an amendâ€" ment to the township high school act. It is understood that both sides plan to carry the litigation to the state supreme court to obtain a final decision in the matter before the conâ€" tention is settled. Fred J. Held, presâ€" ident of the Lake Forest high school board declared that this was their intention and stated that Lake Forest is determined to have a high school cf its own and that Deerfieldâ€"Shields is objecting because the creation of the Lake Forest district will reduce Deerfield‘s tax resources. Lake Forest Unanimous He said that Lake Forest wants m high school because the Deerfieldâ€" Shields high school is crowded and because attendance there is a hardâ€" ship to Lake Forest students. The public is cordially invited Plan to Organize Women‘s Gym Class Those women in this vicinity who are interested in organizing a gymâ€" nasium and swimming class at the high school are asked to register at the Deerfieldâ€"Shields high school next Monday evening.
