Two Thousand Children to March from Schools to Site; Proâ€" gram Features LAY CORNER STONE _ OF LIBRARY FRIDAY Two thousand children of the Highâ€" land Park public and high schools marching with their school banners fiving and headed by the High School band, will be a feature of the proâ€" gram attending the laying of the corâ€" rer stone of the new Highland Park Public Library building, to take place Friday morning of this week, at 11 o‘clock. One hundred Boy Scouts in uniform will assist in handling the crowd, and the ceremonies will be atâ€" tended by Mayor Lewis and other city officials. All members are urged to attend, as matters of imâ€" portance are to be considered and the annual election of officers will be held. The club has closed a very successful year and is looking forward to still greater activity during the 1931 seaâ€" son. Offer Training Course _ > Girl Scout Leadership The Highland Park Girl Scout Comâ€" munity committee are again offering a free training course in Girl Scout leadershin. â€" This course is open to all women interested in Girl Scouting and a‘"l high school girls are cordially inâ€" vited. The course is given by. Mrs. Isabel Monk who conducted such a successful course here last spring. Greene; to Have Special Meeting The Highland Park Rotary elub, at its weekly luncheon session Monâ€" day noon, at the Moraine hotel, had as guest speaker Alden G. Greene who gave a very interesting and inâ€" structive talk on conditions in Egypt, where for the past three years he has been assisting in the chemistry, physics and mathematics department of the American university of Cairo. During that time he made many trips in Africa, Palestine and surâ€" reunding countries, and the pictures shown on slides were made by himâ€" self and proved very interesting. Mr. Greene is a Highland Park boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. George G. Greene, residents of this city for many years. Friday evening a special meeting of the Rotary club will be held at the Moraine hotel to consider the nroposed organization of a club at Deerfield, and m number of Deerfield business men and citizens will be guests. Renresentatives of Wilmette, Winnetka, Evanston and other north shore clubs also are expected, and a speaker from Rotary International is expected to talk. A good attendance cf members is urged. Meets Tuesday Evening The autumn meeting of the Ravinia Civic association will be held in the Village House next Tuesday evening, Oct. 28. The ~nominating . committee will present names of four persons to â€"reâ€" place four retiring directors. This committee is composed of Messrs. Theo, Osborn, Geo. Carr and John Vercoe. C 5 The Sanitary district expects to call a special election in December to vote on new sewage disposal plants, inâ€" cluding the one at Cary avenue. The directors will report on this matter.
