Harry Walther, Junior Cope, Harâ€" old Bloomfield and "Dick" Martin are among the Highland Park boys reâ€" turning home. from Champaign to spend the holidays with their respecâ€" tive parents. j New Drainage Projects at State Institutions To prevent the Kaskaskia river from flooding lowlands on the state penal farm near Vandalia, a powerful electric pump has been installed, and a drainage system is nearing compleâ€" tion. ‘The drain leads into a sump, near the levy that protects the farm against high water. The pump will throw the sepage into the river, thus enabling the state farm management to plant spring crops without waiting for the water to subside. A similar drainage project, but without a sump, and pump, has been completed on the farm at the Lincoln state school and colony. These drainage projects will aid the institutions to produce food, feed and forage crops for use at the vari.us institutions. No administration in the history of the government has worked more inâ€" telligently and effectively in dealing with a~serious business depression thin the present administration at Washington, and the work is beginâ€" ning to show results. . Miss Virginia Grant held open house at her home on Forest avenue ‘on Sunday from six to nine o‘clock. Mrs. J. E.
