The setting of the story is in the kitchen of Master Austin's Inn of the Golden Cheese in southern Penn- syivania early in the thh ‘century. Master Austin, uwm-r of the ink and a fur trader, played by Thomas Swarm, and Mistress Austin, enacted by Kathleen Galloway, are absent from the inn during the openine num- bers.
