D. A. R. Better Films Committee Review It is gratifying to note the awak- ening interest in the community in the part that moving pictures are playing in the life and development of the child. Parents who admit they are not in favor of movies for chil- dren, are realizing there is real value for them in good films and concern- ing themselves with the problems of how to select the best for them to see, Thursday, February 5, 1981 Parent-Teacher organizations are engaging speakers on the subject, the local manager is co-operating ttr the best of his ability, and this column endeavors to give advance informa- tion weekly on current films, to the end that pareins may make intelli- gent selection fo'r their ehildren's en- tertainment. Tonight and tomorrow night Har- old Lloyd presents "Feet First," a clever, clean farce but we feel obliged to add it is full of dizzy mid-air thrills, and parents of highly excit- able, sensitive children better bear this fact. in mind. Splendid family entertainment otherwise. "Big Money," Eddie Quillan, Robert) Armstrong and James Gleason head a very good east and this is a well acted and amusing farce but the fact that a. life of crime is made so allur- ine and attractive, renders it doubt- ful in its effect on young people. Adults will be amused. "A Lady’s Morals." The author, di- rector and an outstanding cast have made of this romance 3 picture of special merit. Grace Moore as Jenny Lind, is very appealing, her voice is beautiful, and supported by Reginald Denny who does the best work of his career, produce a splendid picture. It is excellent entertainment for intelli- 'ieiiuiiifti, iiie young people, a little mature for children. "Just Imagine." This is an amus- ing and fantastic conception of life in 1980. It is full of novel and fan- tastie ideas with a rocket trip to Mars for a climax. Family. The most 'significant picture of the coming week is "Danger Lights." Here we have the first showing of double width picture in third dimen- sion. Louis Woiheim as Dan, a rail. road man, with Robert Armstrong in the role of a tramp, and Jean Arthur, inject a great deal of humor iri this tragic story. which emphasizes every day homely virtues. Good family en- tertainment. You never hear anybody singing "The Girl I Left Behind Me" now- adays. The reason is that you can't leave the modern girl behind. 20% DISCOUNT ON BROUGHT AND CALLED FOR. Well, ye may not be knowin' it, but he was after writin' a play a few hundred years ago that he took straight out of an Irish tale. He patched it up and pieced it out in a strange fashion, but 'tis the same tale for all o' that." Now we have made another plny out of that self same tale, told some years ago by Ruth Sawyer.
