There has already been much disâ€" cussion of the problem of articulating the grammar school and the high school, and now parents and teachers await with keen interest the presenâ€" tation of some of the practical asâ€" pects of the problems by S. A. Hamâ€" rin of the Department of Education of Northwestern university. Experienced Teacher Mr. Hamrin is teaching at Northâ€" western university and is about to 1°â€" ceive his doctor‘s degree. He has also had practical experience as a teacher and principal, and has been working on some of the.problems of teacher placement. Last year he concluded the course on curriculum reconstruction given to the teachers at Deerfieldâ€"Shields high school, and through this contact has gained some insight into our special local situation, Parents and Teachers Invited All the parents and teachers of the entire district are invited to attend. Dinnerâ€" reservations at nominal price a plate are limited to 300, but perâ€" sons not able to get tickets are urged to come in for the talk and discusâ€" sion. : « Opportunity to Join . Fine Choral Society in Highland Park Residents of the north shore who are interested in acquainting themâ€" selves, with fine choral music and reâ€" hearsing under a very able and experâ€" ienced director are now offered an opâ€" portunity through membership in the Schubet Choral club recently organâ€" ized in Highland Park. This organization meets on Monday evenings at eight in the music room of Elm Place school under the leaderâ€" ship of Mr. C. W, Mountain, member of Northwestern School of Music faâ€" culty, in charge of the choir of the First Methodist church in Evanston and First Baptist church in Waukeâ€" gan also an a capella choir in Evanâ€" ston. _Mr. Mountain was for a number of years Déan of Music at Parson‘s colâ€" lege, Fairfield, Ta., also at lIowa Wesâ€" leyan, Mount Pleasant, Ta., and was formnorly director of Lake Forest Glee elub. : Cost of ~membership covering reâ€" hearsals through May 3 is five dolâ€" lars. The Higbland Park Press The annual meeting of the Men‘s Fellowship club will be held in the parish house of the Presbyterian church on Tuesday, March 3, at seven o‘clock, preceded by a reception from sixâ€"thirty to seven when dinner will be served. Officers for the next year will be elected and reports of the activities of the past yeat will be presented. This will be the closing meeting of this season and the club will not meet again until October. In addition to the regular business to be transacted a very interesting and novel program has been arranged. Mr. Harry K. McEvoy, the well known humorist and magician, will be presâ€" ent and will entertain the club. Mr. McEvoy is so well known that it is unnecessary to tell of his ability and his standing as an entertainer. . He is in demand all over this country and the club is fortunate in securing him for this meeting. He comes through the courtesy of Mr. W. W. Geary. Reservation for the dinner should be made early by calling Highland Park 2176 or the office of the Presbyâ€" terian church. All men in Highland Park are urged to attend this meeting. On Officers to Be Elected 1 Wednesday Next; Details Mayor Lewis Returns from Sojourn in South Mayor Benjamin F. Lewis and family returned this week from Gulf Hills, Miss., where they have spent two and oneâ€"half months. The mayor after resting from an illness has reâ€" eained his former vigor and says he is feeling one hundged per cent. During his term, Mayor Lewis has given of his time and ability without any regard for himself{. Many hours of each day and many evenings each week have been given to the city work and this rest which he has had was much needed. While he mas been away the city manager has ‘referred all important questions to him for his opinion so he has been in constant touch with city affairs. Conduct New Type of. Lake will address the members on "Building Sound Human Beings." Dr. Lake has been a resident of Highland Park for many years and needs no introduction. Ravinia Garden Club t Prepare Show Entries The Ravinia Garden club members have been working for the past month on their entries for the fifth annual Flower show, sponsored by the Garden Club of Illinois, which this year is being held at the Merâ€" chandise Mart from March 21 to Over 100 garden clubs take part in this great spectacle which has beâ€" come a recognized national instituâ€" tion. Here you may see real flower gardens in full bloom, formal and inâ€" formal rock ‘gardens, water gardens and many other interesting features. Mrs. Arthur Raff has charge of the advance ticket sale for the Raâ€" vinia club, regular 75¢ tickets, the price of admission at the door, may be: bought now for 50¢ either from Mrs. Raff or any member of the club.
